Hearing nourishes a child’s developing brain and allows the child to develop verbal communication and auditory processing skills. Therefore, it is important to identify and treat even a mild hearing loss as soon as possible so that the child can succeed on their path to learning and social development.
At Hoffmann Audiology, we can evaluate your child’s hearing when he or she is about 5 years old. With toddlers, we rely on a set of tests to estimate your child’s hearing ability. Some of these tests require them to perform simple game-like tasks and some of them are measured from their ears without any response from them. Typically, once your child reaches school-age, we can reliably determine his or her actual hearing acuity and perform a baseline hearing test.
